Its celebration time c'mon

It's that time of the year again.

It's the eve of the Chinese new year and I would be looking forward tonight's reunion dinner. This year it's going to be different, for the first time we are going to have it at my grandfather's place and that means a new dinner menu!

An aunt, uncle and 2 cousins would be overseas during this CNY. So got to keep the men fed as no one will be cooking for them that is if my mom get the prized fish for the laksa, it's really really absolutely the embodiment of a home cooked meal (that means it taste good without the MSG).

CNY is KL for me is a quite affair. No traffic jams, no idiots on the road, no pesky humans blocking my path, no queuing, etc. I can get to anywhere in KL in 15 minutes for less. Absolute charming of a city to drive in!

The weather during CNY here gets pretty hot, with clear skies and blazing hot sun. Compounded by the bright coloured clothes people wear you'll probably fell hotter than it actually is. Oh and we just love to visit our relatives some we see just once a year or 2 if there is a wedding or went someone has reached its expiry date.

We normally pick a day and go house hoping. During these visit the children like me (you're not an adult till you're married) would keep ourselves assumed with TV, food and gambling while the adults chatter away. It can get so loudly that I turn the TV volume just a little louder than their and they and the tv would be having a mini competition who can bring the roof down.

When the celebration is over on 15th day of CNY or Chap Goh Mei. I would be counting this year's collections after the gambling and alcohol. The money generally gets lesser when you get older for some reason and when you get married you start to lose as you start giving. (and during this time probably some girls are trying to get hitch by throwing oranges into the Klang river). Sigh.... as to all good time an end has to come.

Happy New Year again.

I saying with all the joy in the world, like I said before not everybody gets to celebrated 2 new years or more in a year (you have to be Chinese or Malaysian).
